Whoever

One time Ramanujacharya was begging to the Lord you are the sarnagat vatsal, please accept me. 

The Lord said, alright I accept you. 

Then Ramanujacharya said, can you also please accept all the living beings. 

Earlier the Lord had immediately replied, but later he thoughtfully spoke thus – 

whoever Oh Ramanujacharya will be grateful for all the work you have done to establish religion, if they will understand your work and admire it, to such people I will accept. Not directly.

Putra-Kameshti Yagna

Ramanuja’s father Asoori Sarvakrati Kesava Dikshitar performed the Putra Kameshti Yagna to pray for a son. Lord Parthasarathy himself appeared in his dream and announced that He Himself would be born as his son under the name of Ramanuja and would help to spread the word of God.

Final Instructions

1. Worship all Vaishnavas as you worship your guru
2. Have faith in the previous acarya’s and never be controlled by the senses.
3. Never be satisfied simply by worldly knowledge.
4. Study the scriptures which described the glories of the Supreme Lord.
5. Transcendental knowledge can overcome the pushing’s of the mind and senses.
6. Be indifferent to the promptings of the mind.
7. Always relish the chanting of the holy name in qualities of the Lord.
8. The best way to serve the Lord is rendering service to his devotees.
9. Never follow the ways of a vaishnava for material gain.
10. Always endeavor for purity.
11. Every day, spend some time in contemplating the greatness of the spiritual master.
12. Every day, study the teachings of vaishnava acarya’s.
13. Always associate with those who are surrender to the Lord, avoid those who teach paths other than devotional service and those interested in sensual pleasures.
14. One who sees the deity as stone, the guru as an ordinary man, the devotee in terms of cast and bodily designation, caranamrita as ordinary water, the holy name of the Lord as mundane sound vibration, and Supreme Lord as one of the demiGod’s certainly destine for hellish life.
